The countdown… something we have become accustomed to hearing around these parts… THREE… TWO… ONE… then the event. Most often attributed to the pre-launch narration coming from KSC or Cape Canaveral. However, as a countdown, there are other times when these countdown digits make sense.
Three… The number of months until the new year. This may not sound like much, other than the New Year’s Eve show, but it will be the start of a completely new year, and lots of potential changes to the CCB collection of volunteer personnel. February is our annual election, and January is nominations for CCB officers for next year. Are you going to join the team? Think about it.
Two… The number of months until the Annual Print Competition (APC). The APC will be held the 5th of December this year, and, as a reminder, each member can submit up to two color and two B&W prints for the competition. The dinner will be $25 per person in advance, and $30 at the door. Each print will have a $10 entrance fee. Don’t get caught with a “rush job” at your favorite printer. Select the prints of your choice (taken within the past 2 years) and get them ordered in plenty of time! Specifics on sizes and other requirements are on the CCB website. Check often for updates to ACP information as we get closer.
One… The number of months (more or less) until Halloween and the start of the holiday season. It happens this time every year, but some of us always seem to get behind the calendar curve, getting “rushed” as the days and weeks pass by. Don’t be that slacker this year! Get out in front of the schedule and have a more relaxed season!
Zero… Many of you know we have a FaceBook page. I would encourage you to make it a favorite and post and visit often. I will soon be instituting a “President’s Favorite FB Image” weekly to highlight the image liked best. Post your favorite images as the week goes on, and be in the running for this soon to be prestigious award!
