Virtual Photo Walk Challenge for August

It is said that light illuminates and shadows define. And in these long days of summer there are plenty of interesting shadows to admire. So, for this month’s photo walk challenge, let’s capture an image where shadows are a prominent element in the photograph!

Be thoughtful in what you create. Pay particular attention to composition and technical qualities of your photo. Be creative and capture a unique shadow photograph to share in our next f/STOP.

Our photo walk challenges are designed to get us out and capture recent images. So, photos submitted must be taken in the month of July or August 2022! Post your images on Instagram and tag your photos #cameraclubofbrevard plus #ccbshadow2022. If you don’t have an Instagram Account, or if you prefer, send your photos to  Name your files with your first and last name. Post or send your photos to the CCB by August 27th. Selected photos from each photographer will be featured in the next f/STOP newsletter!

The Camera Club of Brevard is honored to announce our September Program will be presented by the remarkable photographer George Wilson.  George is a Pulitzer Prize nominated photographer.  What a great achievement that is.  His presentation is titled- “How do I find my vision when I can’t find my glasses? – The World I Love to See”

This is how George describes his presentation:
“What inspires you to make an image? When I began my journey as a news photographer, I was told to shoot what I love, but it could be a “journey” to find what I loved. I often took a step back and thought about capturing both unique and telling photographs – I do this still today.   Join me for a light-hearted look at how I developed my own style and a chance to pick up some ideas for establishing your own style of work.”

Vision and style is a fantastic topic for all Camera Club of Brevard members.  What is your style of photography?  What do you like to take photographs of, and why?  Do you have a vision?  Come to the September CCB in-person program to help you develop your photography passion.
