Coming Down The Mid-Year Pike

Well, as we approach the June meeting, we need to look ahead and make plans or adjustments for our CCB year.

Our monthly competition in June is Lowkey/Highkey (pick one).  This will give you the opportunity to explore the end of the exposure envelope you may not be familiar with.  Expanding your repertoire.

July is our usual “Open and Creative,” where your imagination is king, in the subject of your Open entry and what you come up with as your version of Creative.

We will not be having a meeting or competition in August, so set your vacation plans now!

September, we have the category “Portrait of a Stranger.”  The intent is for you to engage with someone outside your normal circle of friends and capture a portrait of someone new.  See what expression you can capture!  But here’s the fun part . . . take your portrait image and PRINT IT OUT!!  Our September competition will be competing printed portraits!  You can have color or B&W, and any size you like (8X10, 11X14, etc.) but your print should be mounted.  Bring your entry to the September meeting, and our judge (John Buck) will spend the meeting comparing and evaluating your printed entries and come up with the winners at the meeting!  There will be no entry fee for your printed entry, and no need for any early drop-off… just bring it to the meeting!  (If you can’t be at the meeting, have another member bring in your print to the meeting.)

October will be another round of “Open and Creative,” and November will be “Early Evening.”

We will wrap up the year with our “Annual Print Competition,” with all the same rules and limits as previous years.

We have competition themes through April 2027, but we will be filling out the theme list for next year after that.  If you have any ideas of a competition theme you’ve just been chomping at the bit and waiting for, send it/them on to me!

If you know of any friends who you think would enjoy membership in CCB, bring them to a meeting and perhaps we can sign them on as a new member!

Thanks for a great start to our 2026 CCB year!
